OK, so what is the bottom line? The North Shore line becomes a "Tube-like" all stops short rail line with stations very closely spaced together and covering inner urban catchments like the lower north shore. In contrast, Sydney Metro becomes a Crossrail-like network, with wide station spacing so that outer suburban job centres are linked up with a rapid transit rail service:
So the future vision for Sydney Metro is "Crossrail" - and not "Tube" (like many currently see it).
